专家简介(BIO):
Prof. Zenghui Wang graduated with Doctoral degree (2007) in Control Theory and Control Engineering, Nankai University, China. He is currently a Professor at the University of South Africa. His research interests include industry 4.0, control theory and control engineering, engineering optimization, microgrid, image/video processing, artificial intelligence, and chaos. So far, he has published over 200 papers on these research interests, including about 100 SCI journal papers. He was/is the principal investigator of six grants of South African national research foundation and one industrial project.

Deep learning methods have been applied in many fields such as digital image processing, and have achieved excellent performance. Time series are a common data format for engineering systems such as power systems. Images and time series are different in data format. Applying deep learning methods to time series is an important research area. Deep learning methods are introduced and reviewed here, and then a deep learning-based approach is applied to time series of power systems, showing promising performance. Finally, future directions are discussed.
